The Mateo & Dougan Band at the Midsummer Revival Concert Series

Tech City, 101 Enterprise Dr. , Kingston, NY 12401

This event is a celebration of the transfer of the property known as Enterprise West to National Resources. With this move, National Resources will be the owner of the whole former IBM Campus with the exception of six parcels on the very east side of the campus (nearest the railroad tracks). We will begin the event with a performance for families by the VANAVER CARAVAN,, local legends in children's shows. The Vanaver Caravan Musicians will lead World Family Dancing for all ages. 2022 marks the Company's 50th Anniversary of their first concert with a year of events and community connections. From Chinese Ribbon Dancing to a Sicilian Tarantella to the Virginia Reel..... celebrate the beautiful cultures of the earth and the joy of dancing together! You will be treated to a set of jazz music by a quartet handpicked by our producer, Laura Hartmann: Ryan Keberle on trombone, Matt Finck on guitar, Jay Anderson on bass, and Peter O'Brien on drums. They are some of the best the Hudson Valley to offer. So bring a comfortable lawn chair and be prepared to take a stroll through jazz history as you hear jazz standards, and likely a few compositions written by these fine musicians. In addition to being bandleaders in their own right, the four have played with an impressive list of bands including Orleans, the Maria Schneider Orchestra, Darcy James Argue, David Bowie, Wynton Marsalis, Roswell Rudd, Steve Wilson, and John Medeski. We are proud to present the Mateo & Dougan Band. From Brooklyn to the Catskill Mountains and the Hudson Valley, with songs both to the light and to the devil “hiding in the courtyard” led by singer songwriter Carl Mateo, The Mateo & Dougan Band play roots and groove-oriented music steeped in Americana and tinged with gospel, Latin and reggae influences. Their 2020 release, “Time to Fly”, features original songs by Carl Mateo, piano, guitar, keys, harmonica, vocals and stellar, emotive left handed guitar work by Peter Dougan (Jay Collins Band). The rhythm section features the steady and funky pulse of drummer Eric Parker (Joe Cocker, Steve Winwood, Bob Weir, Lou Reed and more), and the supple bass of Kyle Esposito (Jay Collins Band, Connor Kennedy, Duke McVinnie). We could not be happier to add to the Marc Black Band to our show; a good time band with head, heart, and soul. And while it’s true Marc was inducted into the New York Chapter of the Blues Hall of Fame, this band is multi-dimensional incorporating rock, folk, blues, and jazz. In the words of WFUV eclectic disc jockey John Platt, “We need to hear songs like Marc’s now more than ever.” The Band features vocals by the extraordinary Amy Fradon; drumming by Eric Parker from the Joe Cocker and Steve Winwood bands; horns of all description played by Don Davis and Mike Esposito, former lead guitar from the Blues Magoos, on bass! Marc has performed and recorded with Art Garfunkel, Taj Mahal, and Pete Seeger to name a few. He was recently named Folk Artist of the Year on ABC Radio, and a winner at the Kerrville Folk Festival as well. His song, No Fracking Way has become a worldwide anthem for the movement. This event is FREE! Bring a lawn chair or blanket and join us under the trees! There is plenty of parking. It's all Free!!
